In an effort to support the good quality of higher education, Kompas Gramedia collaborates with Universitas Terbuka (UT) in the provision and delivery of teaching materials. This collaboration is specifically worked on by KGX and Gramedia Printing who are trusted in the field of book production and distribution throughout Indonesia related to the vast regional network nationally. As is known that UT has a massive number of students spread throughout Indonesia.
Universitas Terbuka (UT) is very aware of the importance of the process of sending printed teaching materials or better known as subject matter books (BMP) so that the distribution of teaching materials that are appropriate and accurate can smooth the student learning process. Monday (20/3/2023), UT visited Gramedia Printing and KGX, which are the largest printing and warehousing companies in Indonesia and are part of the pillars of the Kompas Gramedia manufacturing industry. This visit was carried out directly by UT Rector Prof. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus., Ph.D. along with the ranks to the Gramedia warehouse in the Cakung area, Jakarta. This visit was welcomed by the Director of PT Gramedia Adhi Mardhiyono and staff.
The visit was intended to introduce several things related to the implementation of education at UT in the era of the industrial revolution 5.0 which requires extensive network devices so that UT services can be accessed quickly, precisely, and accurately by each UT student in various corners of the country. The collaboration between Gramedia Printing, KGX, and UT was strengthened by developing a joint program entitled 'PARAMITA' as an abbreviation for 'Delivery of Teaching Materials to Students Precisely and Accurately'. Paramita itself in Sanskrit means 'perfection'. Thus, the Paramita program is intended to be able to satisfy students in terms of timely and accurate receipt of teaching materials to the target location. This program is a new breakthrough for UT, Gramedia Printing, and KGX as a good and profitable business process for both parties with excellent service provided by Gramedia Printing and KGX. Good benefits from Gramedia Printing and KGX to UT because both have extensive networks throughout the archipelago.
Gramedia Printing and KGX are pleased to collaborate with UT because they see that the current education trend is indeed leading to distance learning which allows the development of innovations that are in line with today's digital developments. For this reason, Gramedia Printing, KGX, and UT agreed to cooperate in sending massive door-to-door teaching materials directly to every student in various corners of the country. As is known, currently as of March 20, 2023, data related to the print send program by Gramedia Printing and KGX has reached 24,000 NIK from a total of 35,000 NIM for all students with coverage of 14 UPBJJ-UT, with a sending area of 34 UPBJJ-UT. In addition, the print and send teaching materials program can facilitate the needs of five large / most student Study Programs (Management Study Program, Accounting, Legal Sciences, State Administration, and Communication Sciences).
UT's visit to Gramedia Printing and KGX included a series of events, including the launch of the PARAMITA program, seeing a simulation of the teaching material delivery process in the form of a warehouse tour, and a trial simulation of massive BA delivery to 14 UPBJJ-UT with five Study Programs (Prodi) with the largest number of students. In addition, the visit also wanted to see the process of mitigating student data that will be sent by BA by KGX and how KGX conducts QC for sending BA to students with a barcode system. During the visit, the 'Release of 5 White Doves' was also carried out reflecting five major study programs, with the aim of improving the distribution service of UT's printed teaching materials.
In general, UT's visit to Gramedia Printing and KGX is expected to provide a wider and more open discussion space about the potential cooperation that can be carried out by both parties in the future.
