Kompas Gramedia was awarded by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta for its accommodating buildings for cyclists. The award was presented directly by Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria at Balaikota, Tuesday, September 29, 2020. "Realizing Jakarta cycling-friendly can not be done alone, but it needs support from various parties ranging from government, community, to private parties. Therefore, the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta gave this award to appreciate the role of various parties that have supported us," Ahmad Riza Patria said in his speech.

The Cyclist Friendly Building Award was given to welcome World Car Free Day which is commemorated every September 22, while supporting the #JakartaRamahBersepeda. There are four categories of awards, namely Office Building, Shopping Center, Residential Building (apartment), and Low Building for Business. This award was given after passing the selection process, survey, assessment by the Jury Team from representatives of the provincial agencies of DKI Jakarta, the community, as well as professionals, until Kompas Gramedia was selected as one of the award recipients for the office building category.

Cycling is currently a lively sport in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. But actually, bicycle sports is not new in Kompas Gramedia. Since a long time ago, many employees of Kompas Gramedia have loved cycling to the office, even actively held bicycle cruising activities that were by Kompas Daily. The number of employees who hobby cycling also encouraged the establishment of the KG Cyclist community since 2006. In the midst of this pandemic, the KG Cyclist community is also actively providing education about cycling safely to the community among others through KompasTV's "Legal Literacy" Talk Show, webinars with National Geographic Indonesia, and others. This is what prompted Kompas Gramedia to support the #JakartaRamahBersepeda launched by the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta.

Kompas Gramedia's head office located on Jalan Palmerah Selatan itself has long had facilities for cyclists, especially for employees who like to cycle to the office. From parking lots, bathrooms, changing rooms, to other supporting equipment such as pumps and compressors provided by the company. For security, incoming employees must tap in on the machine using an employee ID Card, while guests are provided with a special parking card. The bike parking location is also equipped with CCTV and 24-hour security guards.

GM Property Services KG Property Sri Kuncara Harya Sena represented Kompas Gramedia to receive the award saying that he was very grateful Kompas Gramedia got appreciation as a cyclist-friendly office building. "Hopefully with this award, many employees will be more eager to cycle to the office. In addition to being healthier, in terms of the environment can also reduce pollution," he said.

In addition to cycling, Kompas Gramedia also strongly supports the activities of 19 other sports communities incorporated in PORKA KG (Persatuan Olahraga Karyawan Kompas Gramedia). Kompas Gramedia's head office also has sports facilities such as futsal court, tennis, volleyball, basketball, petanque, jogging track, and fitness center. (*)
