COLLABORATIVE COMPUTER TECHNIQUES UMN AND MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE CREATED SMART FARMING SYSTEM

Great Hall of Agricultural mechanization development (BBP Mektan) of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia study Program the Computer Engineering University of Multimedia Nusantara to collaborate on creating smart agriculture in Indonesia in an effort to Improving the farming quality of this country.

UMN Computer Engineering lecturer develops the prototype of a smart agricultural system that will be implemented on agricultural land owned by BBP Mektan in BSD City, South Tangerang area. The prototype system that was done in April to October 2019 was named the Smart Farming System.

Control of this smart farming system is carried out entirely via the web whose access is limited to authorized internal parties. BBP and Computer Engineering UMN still continue to review the system in continuous cooperation. HAKI on the system has been submitted by both parties.

Through the Smart Farming System application, agricultural land managers can monitor and control land through a web interface. The system will provide a wide range of important land parameters, such as soil humidity, temperature, and wind conditions. Irrigation against land can be done by controlling the irrigation valves remotely from the web. Land managers can also automatically determine the schedule of plant watering based on the desired hours and humidity conditions. (CRA)
