Visual Interaktif Kompas (VIK), one of Kompas.com’s products, once again received international acknowledgement. This time the recognition came from the prestigious world media association event WAN IFRA.
VIK snatched a silver award in the best innovation new product category, competing with gold winner “MaskOFF“ from the STAKK Factory and “The Straits Times… coming to you from your smart home gadget“ from Singapore Press Holdings Ltd, which won bronze. The award was received by Kompas.com’s managing editor, Amir Sodikin, at the Asian Digital Media Awards ceremony in Singapore, Wednesday, Nov. 1.
VIK, which has been around since February 2016, is a journalistic product in the long form genre that highlights visual aspects and interactivity with readers. VIK continues to issue periodic publications that can be enjoyed through vik.kompas.com.
Previously, VIK also won the best website award in the category of news/entertainment at the Bubu Awards v.10.
VIK was designed to present journalistic reporting in a multimedia format. This means VIK not only provides text, but also combines audio-visual aspects such as photos, audio, video, infographics and interactivity with the reader. (*)
