TRIBUNJAKARTA.COM, TANAH ABANG - TribunJakarta.com, part of Tribun Network, launched a social movement and socialization entitled 'Semesta Prevent Stunting' in Gelora Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Thursday (25/5/2023) afternoon.
The event was the result of collaboration between Tribun Network and the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) and supported by Kompas Gramedia, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) Tbk, Rotary Club Jakarta 3410.
Stunting is a condition due to malnutrition in infants, especially in the first thousand days of life. This condition causes stunted growth and development of children characterized by height below the average of the standard toddlers their age.
Business TribunJakarta.com Manager, Muhammad Taufiq Zuhdi said, this event is a form of Tribun Network's contribution to support the government's efforts to reduce stunting rates in Indonesia.
Moreover, President Joko Widodo has targeted the number of stunting rates in Indonesia to drop to below 14 percent in 2024.
"So this is our series of activities. Tribun wants to support, and contribute to the Government which targets the stunting rate to drop to below 14 percent in 2024," Taufik said at the location, Thursday (25/5/2023).
Taufik explained the problem of stunting is still a concern for the Government in Indonesia. The presence of this event is expected to help prevent and contribute to reducing stunting rates in Indonesia, especially in DKI Jakarta.
"We carry out this social movement by embracing all circles. The private sector has moved a lot, we also the media do not want to be outdone to help prevent stunting, "he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Welfare of Tanah Abang District, Setiyanto appreciated the implementation of the event. He hopes that the presence of the event can help reduce stunting rates in the DKI Jakarta area.
"I represent the Head of Tanah Abang Sub-District, giving appreciation to all parties for the implementation of this activity. This was the first real movement in Tanah Abang. Hopefully, it will be a benefit for all of us and especially the residents of Gelora Village," he said.
Setiyanto explained activities like this should be a common concern, to both care about reducing stunting rates in Indonesia.
"This is our collective responsibility. This motivates all to take part in social activities. Stunting is also a problem in the country," he concluded.
On yesterday's occasion, Tribun Network also provided socialization related to the #CukupDuaTelur campaign. Giving two eggs is intended as a direct action to children to help fulfill their nutrition through daily egg intake.
"Eggs have protein and play an important role in fulfilling children's nutrition. Therefore, protein is very good to help prevent stunting, "said dr. Ovi Norviana, Head of Pusesmas Tanah Abang.
In this event, residents also received education about the nutritional content of eggs and how to process them.
To distribute this assistance, Tribun Jakarta collaborates with posyandu cadres, and health workers from Puskesmas in local villages. Monitoring the growth of stunted toddlers will be carried out regularly.
It is hoped that this step will be a tangible manifestation of achieving a reduction in stunting rates in Indonesia in the future.
