Sonora.id Journalists Receive Ministry of Health Award at World Immunization Week 2023

Jakarta - Journalist Sonora.id Saortua Marbun received an award symbolically in the Online Media Writer Competition related to World Immunization Week (PID) 2023 organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI). The award presentation procession was handed over directly by the Head of the Communication and Public Service Bureau of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, dr. Siti Nadia Tarmizi, M.Epid at the peak event held at Siwabessy Hall, Ministry of Health Building, South Jakarta on Sunday (7/5) afternoon. 

The article entitled "Busy Working to Find Fortune, Rini Still Brings Immunization Children to Protect Babies" succeeded in bringing Sonora.id Journalist Saortua Marbun to second place in the PID 2023 Online Media Writing Competition. The criteria for qualifying as winners, as contained in the 2023 World Immunization Week (PID) Guidebook, include the following:

Articles are published during the competition period (March 27 - April 20, 2023) on online media where journalists work; The manuscript is written at least 3000 characters; The writing must be in accordance with the theme and include a quote about the importance of immunization.

The commemoration of World Immunization Week (PID) is carried out with the aim of increasing the active participation of the community, especially parents and caregivers of children in achieving complete routine immunization status as scheduled; Encourage cross-program, cross-sectoral involvement, professional organizations, NGOs, businesses, and other partners in immunization programs through evidence-based innovation, in order to achieve eradication and elimination of immunization-preventable diseases (PD3I); and, Increase public knowledge, awareness and confidence in the importance and benefits of immunization for family health throughout the age.

The commemoration of World Immunization Week (PID) 2023 at the global level carries the theme "The Big Catch-Up", then for the national to take the theme "Let's protect ourselves, families and communities with complete immunization!". The key messages to be campaigned to the wider community are complete immunization of healthy Indonesia; Immunization has been shown to be safe and effective in protecting children and families from PD3I; Bring the child to the immunization service post as scheduled; Double immunization is safe and beneficial; Make sure WUS has received immunizations containing complete Tetanus Toxoid before pregnancy; Ensure complete routine immunization in school-age children.
