Cianjur, January 21, 2023 - The Kompas Humanitarian Fund Foundation (YDKK) together with Indonesian Guitarists distributed logistical donations from Kompas readers to survivors of the Cianjur earthquake disaster, West Java at a number of evacuation points in the form of 126 basic food packages. Not only staples, Kompas Gramedia through the Nusantara Literacy Movement - AkuBaca program donated reading books, along with Kompas Book Publishers and doll donations from Kompas Gramedia Adventure (KGA).
The donation was symbolically handed over by the Executive Manager of the Kompas Humanitarian Fund Foundation Anung Wendyartaka to residents of earthquake survivors at two points, namely in Bojong Herang Village and Ciwelan Village on Saturday (22/1/2023). Both are located in Cianjur District, Cianjur Regency, West Java.
Executive Manager of the Kompas Humanitarian Fund Foundation (YDKK) Anung Wendyartaka explained that these two areas were chosen so that points that escaped monitoring could be helped.
"These two areas are close to the city, but they rarely get help. We were there after passing several assessments so it was expected to be on target. Not only staples, but there are also diapers and vitamins for residents," he said on the sidelines of providing assistance.
In addition to handing over donations, YDKK together with KG Adventure also provided entertainment to the children of earthquake survivors. The entertainment provided is playing games and singing together. In addition, it was enlivened by the distribution of dolls for children of earthquake survivors by Kompas Gramedia Adventure (KGA), a community of KG employees who love nature. The dolls distributed were the result of donations from KG employees raised by the KGA team.
Representatives of Indonesian Guitarists, Endah Widiastuti and Kongko, also witnessed the provision of this assistance and appreciated the targeted assistance, and hoped that the attention to the survivors would not stop because they still needed help.
"I am very happy because this distribution has gone through long research from friends of the Kompas Humanitarian Fund and is right on target because it goes directly to the residential location, then meets with the victims. This indicates that here assistance is still urgently needed and this is not over yet," said Endah Widiastuti, a musician from Endah N Rhesa who was present at the aid distribution site.
Yayan Supiana (44), Chairman of RT 002 Sedong Kulon Village, Bojongherang Village, appreciated the gift that came from Kompas donors. The assistance, he continued, will be used properly, and hopes to still get attention.
"Now there is not as much help as before, so we are grateful that someone is still paying attention. This assistance will be used as well as possible. Here there are 13 houses heavily damaged and dozens of residents are still sleeping in tents," said Yayan.

"We are also grateful to the returning guitarists who have had a hand in collecting donations for disaster survivors. This time, guitarist representatives participated in the handover of aid," said Gesit.
YDKK itself has distributed emergency response donations to help Cianjur earthquake survivors two-three days after the disaster occurred.
