Jakarta, 24 November 2022- Kompas Gramedia received a visit from students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Petra Christian University Surabaya offline on Wednesday (23/11). The group of students was received at Borobudur Room, Kompas Tower Building, 6th Floor by KG Media Public Relations Farica Agustin, Public Relations Analyst Corporate Communication Devin Airlangga, Public Relations Analyst Corporate Communication Laras Nabila Fitri, and KompasTV Content Creator Sadryna Evanalia. The visit aims to increase students' knowledge in terms of social media journalism which is currently commonly done by journalists.

Devin Airlangga opened the event by conveying a brief history of the birth of Kompas Gramedia to the presentation of the development of business units owned by Kompas Gramedia from year to year to students. In the session, Devin Airlangga said, "Kompas Gramedia started from Intisari magazine which was pioneered by Jakob Oetama and P.K. Ojong, both of whom have teacher and journalist backgrounds. It started with a magazine that was published every two weeks. Kompas Gramedia continues to grow and currently has 400 business networks in Indonesia."

The activity continued with the introduction of KG Media delivered by Farica Agustin. Currently, KG Media has become an ecosystem, divided into Brand Strategic and Communication Solutions, Content Marketing Solutions, Influencer Marketing Solutions, Media Investment Solutions, and Media/Distribution Platform solutions. Farica Agustin said, "Currently, KG Media has succeeded in covering 60.7% of the population in Indonesia, where we can get the largest coverage from television."

After students were considered quite familiar with Kompas Gramedia and KG Media, the discussion continued with a sharing session on social media journalism guided by KompasTV Content Creator Sadryna Evanalia. On this occasion, Sadryna explained that the current news format can be packaged more lightly and attractively. This format change can have an impact on people's interest in enjoying a piece of news. Attractive packaging will affect the attention given by the community even if the topic discussed is serious and heavy. Before closing the sharing session, Sadryna Evanalia said that "In producing content, there is no need to use something difficult. If you already have an idea, just execute it and take advantage of what is there."

The discussion session went smoothly, students seemed enthusiastic about the various questions given. On that occasion, Kompas Gramedia also provided insight into social media journalism and ethics that must be adhered to as a journalist. The discussion session concluded the visit and there were gifts for two selected students who had submitted the most interesting reel content. Before the students of Petra Christian University, Surabaya said goodbye, they were invited to visit Studio 1 and see the Keris Exhibition that was taking place at Bentara Budaya Jakarta.

This activity is a means for Kompas Gramedia to contribute directly to building a more advanced and foremost world of education. This is in line with Kompas Gramedia's vision to enlighten the public. Hopefully, the knowledge shared can be useful and transmitted to other student friends.
