In accordance with the vision and mission of Kompas Gramedia in educating the nation's life, Kompas Gramedia participated in contributing to everybody's Reading activities organized by the TBM Jakarta forum in an effort to increase literacy. Through the #AkuBaca donation program, Kompas Gramedia donated 150 copies of children's books (10/11/2022) as a form of concern and the company's active contribution to improving community literacy, opening windows of knowledge, as well as strengthening relations between parties. The donated books will later be distributed by the DKI Jakarta TBM Forum to reading parks and communities that become a network of the DKI Jakarta TBM Forum.
Forum Taman Baca Masyarakat (Forum TBM) DKI Jakarta is a forum to gather and organize for the founders and managers of Community Reading Parks (TBM), literacy activists, communities, and the community. TBM-TBM in DKI Jakarta is accommodated to be able to collaborate with each other and invite stakeholders who are in line. The goal is to jointly develop a movement of interest in reading, literacy, and public education as well as increase the capacity of TBM management, and literacy activists, especially in the DKI Jakarta area. Therefore, to achieve its goals and vision, and mission, the DKI Jakarta TBM Forum synergizes with 70 TBM in Jakarta as a network node to hold Everybody's Reading activities (Taman Baca Festival and Literacy Community). This festival is an event that was first carried out by the DKI Jakarta TBM Forum, where the previous two periods never existed. This activity was held at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM) in the form of workshops, discussions, and joint actions in the form of donations of children's books (Children's Books for Jakarta) and donations for the Jakarta literacy movement (10-13/11/2022).
The assistance of the AkuBaca program was welcomed by the Chairman of the TBM Forum Yudy Hartanto "Thanks to Kompas Gramedia, the #AkuBaca donation program is very useful for reading gardens. This proves the presence of the private sector in supporting the literacy movement in the community. It is hoped that Kompas Gramedia's role as a partner of the TBM Forum will continue to be sustainable so that TBM managers will continue to maintain their enthusiasm in participating in educating the nation".
On the same occasion, Kompas Gramedia CSR Analyst Mochamad Ardiyanto also conveyed the importance of increasing literacy through the procurement of reading materials for the community. "Thank you also to all parties who jointly strengthen literacy, it seems that the mission of increasing literacy really needs many parties involved to encourage the community to continue to be enthusiastic about making activities that create new knowledge spaces for the community, especially for children as the nation's generation," he said.
